Twins recap

Overall, a good game. My call for Jason Kubel over Craig Monroe looks pretty good right now, but Livan Hernandez surely pitched well.

Yes, Dick and Bert, they were booing Torii Hunter.

Torii made a couple catches in the bottom of the first and there was some booing, but I wasn’t quite sure. Then when he came up to bat he was loudly cheered, so I didn’t think much of it. But on subsequent at bats, he was definitely booed. Dick says, “I can’t believe some fans are booing him.”

Bert replies, ‘Those aren’t boos,” while only half believing what he says. Yes: some fans don’t like when a popular player leaves for more money while saying all along he wants to stay in Minnesota. Myself, I am indifferent. Surely I’d like to see him out in center, but that is the way the Twins operate; to make room for the younger guys. And Carlos Gomez had a big night.

Dick also had some problems with names, calling, for example, Delmon YoungDimitri Young.’

Business around this billboard went down by 2/3 on Easter Sunday. Apparently, the Billboard’s owner says someone posted it illegally.

Minnesota Twins: Kubel and Bonser should be playing.

I am a Twins fan. My season starts in 5 minutes.

Starting Rotation from Joe Christenson:

1. Carlos Gomez, CF

2. Joe Mauer, C

3. Michael Cuddyer, RF

4. Justin Morneau, 1B

5. Delmon Young, LF

6. Craig Monroe, DH

7. Mike Lamb, 3B

8. Brendan Harris, 2B

9. Adam Everett, SS

Starting pitcher: RH Livan Hernandez

I would much rather see the under-rated Jason Kubel in DH and Boof Bonser (who starts tomorrow) starting. They are going with money questionably spent in the off-season over solid Twins from last year. We shall see how it pays off.

This blog is mostly for me to post interesting links to. As I’m sure is usual, I see many things while surfing that are interesting, but then I soon forget about them. This seems like a good place to post these, as well as some random musings. Perhaps.
